Last week I was at the Consensus 2026 conference in Miami, took part in the hackathon, and our project ended up taking 3rd place in the Coinbase + AWS track ☀️ It was a cool experience, I met many awesome people.

A lot of people there were genuinely interesting and building cool stuff. But recently I realized there are at least two types of people I keep meeting at crypto conferences.

First type is “shitting into your ears”.

These are the guys who try to impress you by throwing random buzzwords together: “liquidity”, “mining”, “prediction markets”, “AI agents”, “yield”. No actual connection between them, just words flying around for the sake of sounding important.

The second type is “fucking your ears”.

This type actually might have a brilliant idea, but with zero awareness of whether you want to hear a 40 minute monologue about it while standing near the coffee machine.

You become less of a human and more of an audio receiver with legs.

And with both types I never know how to escape politely. My Slavic nature wants to interrupt them after 3 minutes, but then compassion kicks in and I start thinking maybe they just needed someone to listen for a bit.
